I'd be very wary about accepting advice from some 'expert' on the internet, even on such a great forum as NaturalBushcraft.
They look like Ceps to me but that's no recommendation at all. :(

On second thoughts, they look more like field mushrooms but like I said, no recommendation.

Where did you find them? Woods? Open ground? do they bleed if you scratch them? Any smell?
I'm erring with Martin on the field mushroom idea but I'm far from knowledgeable. Have you tried http://www.mushrooms.org.uk ?
There are some inedible varieties that start out looking very similar to this but the cup opens out further as they grow larger.
[Edit] Very young false parasol? Are you in Scotland by any chance?

Horse Mushroom (Agaricus arvensis)
confirmed by the spore print, but didn't eat it it had aged before I was sure what it was. And it was found on the road side, short grass under sycamore. Bristol UK
this family of mushroom obsorbs heavy metals so be cautious when taking from dirty enviroments
