I was out with the hounds at Ashenbank Wood near where I live. It's apparently a fantastic source of rare fungi, as they made the call not to remove fallen wood even prior to the hurricane of 87 (which I remember as a boy), which apparently has resulted in it being one of the richest environments for fungi you can get and a home for many of the rarest fungi (apparently).

Are these of any rare variety?
If someone wouldn't mind giving me a heads-up on some rare examples, I'll make sure I keep an eye out :)

Hi there buddy

The first two fungi pics look like Dryads Saddle (Polyporus squamosus) which is edible when young.

The third pic is a standard polypore type bracket fungi which isn't edible.

Neither of these is rare or uncommon I'm afraid buddy.

All the best
Ade.

Thanks Ade.
I'll keep an eye out for others in the hope I find a treasure!

Ok buddy.

Keep posting pictures pal. It's always good to see what people are finding and when.
