I found a recipe that suggests roasting them 1st, then peeling them adding suger & rum. set fire to them and serve. to get a nice crispy suger'y dish

any ideas how long you would roast a chestnut for? and oven temp?

I think our nights around the fire are getting limited, so definatly an oven job

plenty of chestnut & wallnut at the mo, but the squirel's did me on the hazel. going to have to look at the squirels differently, like through cross hairs

Never too late in the season if you've got some mate, drag some mates out and cook them long into the dark evenings, great for keeping your fingertips busy & warm at a bush-gatherings...
