Welcome to the annual...

Natural-Bushcraft 2013 Calendar Photo Competition
Where you can submit your favourite Bushcraft photo which can be anything nature/wildlife/landscape/outdoor related and be in with a chance of winning some superb prizes as well as having your photo produced into a calendar!

After the submission period we will close entries and then have a poll for our community to decide which are their favourite 12, the winning photos will then be featured on the calendar which will be put into production and sold to members on here. The production of the final calendar will be organised by my wife and I, we will use an online printing service and will post the prices of the calendar and postage nearer the time of production. This whole project will be done in a non-profit manner.

Prizes
Some superb prizes have kindly been donated by Helle Knives & JEEP/Jakob - For more info see below.

__________________________________________________ ________
Read These Rules Before Entering!

Do not post your photos on this thread.

* Email your photo to calendar@naturalbushcraft.co.uk in the email you should include the following: Put your Forum Username in the Subject line. IPut a title/name for your photo in the body of the email, this will be used in the Poll. Optionally include a month in the body of the email that you think your photo would best suit on the calendar (so ie. a autumnal shot of changing leaf colours might be Sept).Make sure the image is high resolution.

This Photo Competition is open to everyone around the world.

Submitting a photo this does not automatically put your name down to purchase a calendar (so you can take part and don't have to commit to purchasing a calendar).

Closing Date for Submissions is Wednesday 31st October 2012 at 10am.

* By emailing your photo to the address above you are giving permission for your photo to be used on this public, non-profit, calendar project. All photos submitted must be your own or written authorisation must be provided by the person allowing use of their image.

Get out & enjoy nature - Take some photos :)

When I receive submissions, I will post them onto this thread anonymously so that voting later on is fair. Do not post photos yourself onto this thread - if you do they will be deleted. If you have any problems emailing in a photo please PM me on here.

We will try to get all submissions, voting and production done before Christmas so this calendar could make a wonderful Christmas gift for friends, family or other Bushcraft folk!

Please do not post asking to be put on a list to buy one of the calenders yet (we will organise that later on).

Prizes you could win in this free to enter competition!

So does that mean only one entry per member Ash?

Ade.

To save Ash having to answer...Yes. One entry per forum member. This would be to ensure everyone has an equal chance in the competition aspect of the calendar.
Last year there was a possibility to change your chosen image toward the end, but I'm not sure if that will happen this time. It starts to get confusing when things like that happen, and creates extra work for Ash. Please keep in mind that Ash is a very busy chap as it is, without adding to the list of things to do :)

All the best

It's a shame I didn't read this earlier - I spent a couple of days camping / walking around Dartmoor a couple of weekends ago...

Due to the weight, I didn't take my gert gait 'uge camera and just took a small point&click camera - now I wish I'd taken the biggun.

Ah well, time to get back out there :)

I'll have to dig out some other photos from earlier in the year too... when we had that amazing summer :confused2:

Please choose around six of your favourites.

Click Here for the Viewing Gallery (http://www.naturalbushcraft.co.uk/calendar-competitions/2013/album/index.html#)

Voting is done at the top of this page

It's a friendly community. I'm sure no one will get upset if folk vote for their own photo. Looking at the number of votes for the top choices, I don't think those odd votes will make any difference to the outcome :)

Yeah, absolutely.
It's not something that bothers me in the least - I was only joking!
If I look at the ones I voted for then, as you say, it would make no difference to the positions.

Well done Adrian. Some stunning pics this year

AdrianRose
25-11-2012, 10:23 PM
Well what can i say?

Thanks guys and gals. I must admit that when I first saw the calibre of entries I thought I had no chance at all. There were some stunning entries for sure, which just highlights the wonderful world in which we live and the woodlands that we prefer to call home, if only for a night or two.

Originally I wasnt going to use this picture at all because my wife (who is using the firesteel in the picture) said her hands looked "really old". Fortunately I lied to her and said they looked fine!!

Also a HUGE thanks to Ash and the rest of the mods for taking the time to run this competition and all the fellow entrants. Also a BIG thank you to Helle and to our very own Jeep who's generosity knows no bounds as always.

I'm sure that like me, everybody wracked their brains over which photo was their best to put forward for the competition. Which got me thinking, could there be a thread where we could upload our "pic of the day" if we were out and caught a good image to share?

Not sure about the sites capacity for storage etc as the photos could take up some room, what do you think Ash buddy?

Anyway, thanks again folks and I shall ofcourse do a video of the knife when I proudly receive it.

All the best
Ade.

Ok folks, now we need to work out numbers for ordering these calendars, if you want one or more of these community calendars then please let me know (http://www.naturalbushcraft.co.uk/forum/private.php?do=newpm&u=1) and I will put together a list.

I think the calendar will cost around £13-16 the price depends on what quantity we can bulk order, postage costs and any discounts we can find in the meantime. As always this will be done in a purely non-profit manner.

Just to give you an idea here is a sample from last year's calendar:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/218966/Forums/NBC/images/calendar-sample1.PNG

So to start the list:

Ashley Cawley
PM me if you want one. (http://www.naturalbushcraft.co.uk/forum/private.php?do=newpm&u=1)

Keep an eye out for any Photobox Calendar offers!
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/218966/Forums/NBC/images/photobox-logo.jpg

Last year we managed to get a 20% discount on our calendars, Photobox quite often give out many offers & discount codes at this time of year so I will ask you all to please keep an eye out everywhere; junk-mail, online/TV for any Photobox offers relating to Calendars as it could make this calendar cheaper for all of us.
T^
Thanks all.

I'll happily promote it on my site, blog and social media outlets if you don't mind crediting my company on the page with my photo ;)Thanks to this project not being monetarily motivated I'm in no way concerned in the number of sales, therefore the extent to which this is advertised doesn't concern me either, infact an insane amount of sales would only result in more work for me.

So I'll proudly say that no company name will be put onto any of the calendar pages - Sorry!

Great news! - The calendars have been ordered and they're cheaper than first anticipated. It's look like they are going to be around the £10 mark now as I managed to talk Photobox into a 50% discount! This new price includes what it should cost me to post it to you as well :o

I'll checkout Paypal fees but this shouldn't amount to much.

I'm told they will all arrive to me on the 17th Dec and I will get them out ASAP, you never know they might be with you before Christmas.

I have ordered 2 additional Calendars
So there are 2 more up for grabs to the first folk who say they want them!

Hi Ash
My calendar arrived safe and sound today and I am blown away by the quality of the photography.

The photos look even better than they did on the laptop.

Excellent! :) Thanks for letting me know you got them.

I hope some got some cards & stickers as well? ;) ... I didn't have enough for everyone unfortunately but did as many as I could.
