We've done String (http://www.naturalbushcraft.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?3618-As-long-as-a-piece-of-string) and we've done a Nail (http://www.naturalbushcraft.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?3295-Hard-as-nails&highlight=nail). Now ... Bottles.

Let's expand this into cover large bottles, small bottles and wide necked bottles.

Once again, one suggestion per post, wait one before further suggestion and continue the list in each post.

I'll start with:

Store water (clean or contaminated)

If it was quite a big bottle, then I would paint it red and use it as a float to go shark fishing like in Jaws.

hello,
I had this image on file. Plastic Bottle 'Green' (recycled) House.
Thinking along the same lines trimming the bottle into tiles then
constructing a lean to or similar type shelter?
I'd imaging you would have to drink a lot of 2 litre Cider bottles
for your construction  makes a good Bothie!

Melt it and make a nice necklace, which you could trade for a gun, then rob a bank and live in luxury in Northern Cyprus for the rest of your life?

# Small stones / dry peas / small nuts etc into bottle and shake !!

# Different ammounts of water and blew across top for different notes

# Blow down into bottle, like a jug band for base

# If bottle has a rib around it, use a suitable stick to rub up and down it

Paint it black and pre-heat water.

Especially in summer it can get quite hot. Use it for washing up, showers, pre-heated water for cooking and brews saves fuel and time.

If you are in a boat, dinghy, liferaft or canoe you can cut the top off and make a hand bailer.

Definately a survival tool and I have used it more than once.

I'd go for water filter as well, with the bottom cut off and then layered with sand/charcoal/sand/charcoal - dirty water in the opened bottom (now the top), cleaner water out the top, (now the bottom)
