nice one Phil thanks for sharing. I got my lad his first fixed bladed knife a couple of months back a Mora as well but this time a 860 MG. We too have been doing basic grips and trying things out like feather sticks.

So important that we pass on this information now before it gets lost forever

Good one, Phil. Kids at that age are information sponges; amazing what they can remember once you teach them.

Yeh nice one phil,had my grandson out back the other day building a fire,he had a great time "helping" to cut wood etc,he thought it was fantastic when we made toast without an electric toaster,he's only 3. Paul

The more time you spend with your kids as they grow up Teaching them skills and listening to them The better start they have in life .
It was one of the best parts of my life teaching them about life in the woods.
And watching them telling there Mum when we got home (While she was stearing them towards the bath with the tazer) :D

That's what I call quality time with kids and great life skills learnt aswell, I believe it helps develope "common sense" too. something a lot of youngsters seem to be lacking,
