Just broke my 3rd gorilla pod type mini tripod for my cam since may.
Sort of tired of replacing these. Anyone know of an alternative that fills these criteria?
-Must be fast and easy to fix to a tree, or a pole
-can be used as a tripod
-does not break if you look at it to hard.
-cheaper than a mora knife

Try a bean bag. Will do most of what you want, most of the time and, when it won't, you can use it as a pillow. ;)

Does not work for me. When I make my vids the cam was attached to my walking stick with the gorilla pod. Most of the time I just stucjk the whole thing in the ground if a wanted to film something static, like myself cooking over the fire. Or I could take the pod off the stick, and attach it to a tree. Bean bags don't attach to sticks and trees that well...
But I found a solution. Got some velcroed elastic velcro strips that I use to pack my beach casting rod together in it's transport tube. And a normal little table top tripod. Use the elastic velcro to attach the tripod to the walking stick :-)
Case closed :-)
