I decided to make a short little adventure outside today - the weather was perfect, with a comfortable temperature of 13 C and clear skies. I must say, though, it was a bit breezy; the winds were quite strong and at times the gusts reached 40 kph. Nevertheless, it seemed a great day to stroll into the forest.
I am fortunate to live across the street (literally) from a 900 acre park, most of which is woodland. It is incredible to wake up to see the sun's rays cascading through the trees and misty meadows in the early morning.
I hiked up the park's small mountain (about 275 meters high), and I came to a shelf on the east side of the ridge, not too far from the summit. It was a decent place to set up camp; the ground was flat enough and grassy, and there was a spring nearby. Plus, the winds were calm, unlike the strong gusts in the valleys.
Pics from left to right: me camp with some steaming brew on the fire, a small patch of Patridgeberry (edible :)), a scenic view from camp facing the summit, an eastern view down the mountain side, and a rock seep - great water ;).
