hello,
Reminds me of a German Army sleeping bag. During the 1980's
we used these types of sleeping bag for Stag Duty/Vehicle Opos,
quite a heavy weight compared to modern sleeping bags but never the
less kept you warm. Could be worn as a jacket bottom half rolled up
towards the seat toggled in place (bulky) rolled out into a bag with
arms & hood.

Haha, looks a tad gimicky to me. Then again, it could be awesome.

This looks fun, but in cold weather wouldn't having an inflatable bag around you, just result in you being surrounded slightly less cold air?

I've seen these on Military Mart, it looks like there are two versions, a £12.50 (http://www.militarymart.co.uk/index.php?_a=product&product_id=1830) version and a £29.99 (http://www.militarymart.co.uk/index.php?_a=product&product_id=426) version (I'm guessing the cheaper one has a lower season rating). I considered them as a possible solution to the feeling of having cling film wrapped around my chest and shoulders, most bags give me, but ended up getting the Czech Army Bed Roll instead.

You have mentioned they are a bit bulky, but would you say they provide a bit of freedom for those with barrel chests and broad shoulders?

hello,
In answer to your enquiry 'NOPE' as far as I'm aware they're all year round bags
similar to the 58 Pattern Issue British Forces bag of old. Heavy duty canvas with padding &
rubberised outer shell, rolled up into the hood. As I said we used them for Stag Duty or
sleeping within the vehicles or under a tarp by the vehicle on Opos as they had sleeves,
the British bag didn't.
Surplus condition, I've only seen a few that are in as issued condition, most are either Grade 1
or upwards Grade 3 'Tatty'.
I would suggest Surplus condition, try before you buy, turn it 'outside in' check for any damage,
they're a good bag as like anything has pros & cons. I've seen the Czech sleep system bed roll
nice choice too.

David
