Yeah me too. The presenter comes across well doesn't he.
I would love to meet that tall guy who wore the fluorescent jacket and lives in a wood. He seemed interesting

It's a very good programme.
I've met quite a few people like the man in the 2nd prog. A lot of people who work at the coppicing end of Forestry seem to be "damaged by life" in some way. I don't mean that remark to be taken in a derogatory manner. From my own perspective, it helped me come to terms with the loss of my wife.

Thanks for this Jonny. Just watched the last three episodes and found it fascinating. A well made programme with some good aspects of woodland management and financial considerations brought in that would be worth some serious thought for those novices looking at the viability of such a project.
Looking forward to the next episode now...

Watched the first 3 episodes and loved it, I never saw it advertised so not sure how I missed it - good old i-player.
Strawberry Cottage Wood isn't too far from me actually. I'm doing a similar thing in a smaller wood so I have a lot of empathy with the guy right now.

Watched Episode 5 and there are some startling facts in there about charcoal production and imports into the UK. Its a sad fact that, as a population, we are letting ourselves down yet again. I have been just as guilty as many others out there of using the convenient route of 'grab a bag of charcoal while your at Tescos' but I vow to do it no more.
Locally produced charcoal is the next thing to look up.

I have used british charcoal before now and got to say it is far,far better than the stuff you would normally buy, burns hotter and longer so although it may cost more you use less. Just wish it was easier to get hold of. Paul

Me too.... I am also keen to switch to British charcoal, I would be making my own now if I had my own woodland but can't do it in the FC woodland that I coppice.
