Two photos of my most recent work, size is A 4 hand drawn & carved, then edge bevelled & background stamped, then the background was painted with black acrylic, all the knot-work was then stained with oxblood spirit stain then finally
an overall stain of tan gel antique, finished with a coating of 4 way care and buffed to a mellow sheen. thanks for looking Bri59475948

It took about a day in total, from sketch to final polish, but much longer when you take into account that the leather has to dry after the carving & stamping is done with, before you can then paint and stain it.
This will be a crimbo present for a friend of the wife's I just hope that she doesn't mind a Celtic cross - she's a catholic!! OOps

Agreed. She's definitely going to love it, especially if she's an Irish Catholic :).
Incredible craftsmanship, Bri :D. T^

I think as a woman of high spiritual persuasion towards the catholic faith, she will hate such a blatant symbol of pagan idolatry.
Therefore, so as not to cause her religious sensibilities any undue stress, I will take the bullet and accept the carving on her behalf!!
Obviously I'm sure that you all realise that the only reason I'm doing this is to avoid any spiritual conflict for this poor lady.
:) :) :)
