Invasive plant species are a threat to our natural fauna and floura as well as costing billions of pounds to fight each year.

This was highlighted in one of my 'must see' programmes on telly by Countryfile on the BBC. There were also good reports about reintroducing the Lynx and increasing the UK's woodland coverage. The woodland report raised the issue of Ash Dieback again and we are now aware of the iPhone and Android App that is available to assist the general public with identifying and reporting this dangerous and destructive fungal disease.

Well now The Environment Agency and Bristol University have developed another App to assist in the identification and reporting of alien plant species in an ongoing effort to control or erradicate these unwanted plants. It works in exactly the same way as the Ashtag App and is very simple to use as well as being completely free to download. I thought I would post all the links so that those interested can download it and assist in the easiest way possible by reporting your sightings whilst on your bimbles.
