Does anyone know of any decent books on "How To Make........" i want to start making various things , but i'm not sure where to start , i mean in terms of bushcraft Woodworking etc , like making bows and other wooden items......


anyone got any suggestions?

YouTube gets my vote too. Some very generous people out there (and here) spending their time to share their knowledge.

If there's anything in particular you want to know, then I'm sure people will give you a list of on-line resources to watch/read. One website I found that has some great "crafty" projects is Jon's Bushcraft, which you can find at http://www.bushcraft.ridgeonnet.com/Articles%20and%20tutorials.htm

Then there is of course the "Camp craft" section of the Natural Bushcraft website at http://www.naturalbushcraft.co.uk/camp-craft that could keep you busy for a while. :)

thanks for the idea's guys :) i was hoping for a book i could take out and about with me, dont fancy takin the laptop haha

On the subject of wood carving chaps, what basic carving tools would you recommend for a novice (me) ?

I would start with a good, dedicated knife, and progress from there. I did just that and added a couple of curved mora knives for spoons etc. I have very little experience myself, but have a wealth of experience from the very talented guys who have posted on here to draw on and learn from.
