My wax jacket could do with a wee bit TLC and a spruce up. Would Nikwax tech wash suffice on a cold wash?. Followed by a re-waxing of course. Best course of action? or is there a better way? Heres a pic

Looks like what's known as an 'oilskin', in which case, no machine wash. Literally hose down and scrub with a light brush, then let dry. If it's not as waterproof as it was, buy a tin of oilskin treatment, is oil and beeswax, and bush it on according to instructions. I've owned three oilskins over the past 20 years, that is all you do with them, handwash and retreat when needed.

When I worked in a fishing and shooting shop we offered a re-waxing service.First thing we did was stick it in the washing machine on 40 degrees with biological powder.Rinse twice and cool tumble dry then rewax using Barbour thornproof dressing.Use a hair dryer to warm the jacket during and after waxing to get a pro finish.Stand the tin of wax in a dish of warm water to thin it a little bit.Put the wax on with a clean cloth.
