Did anyone try to camp in Whitelee Forest?
A bear google search with the terms "Whitelee forest camp" doesnt come with anything camping related.

hmmm now I see why. It is an industrial forest. Yet I am pretty sure that will still be awesome.

Just be aware that some forestry that belongs to the government, or the utilities companies will usually have a warden/ranger or even a shoot that rents that land with a gamekeeper who can AND WILL move you on, its not so much of an issue in Scotland I appreciate that, here in England its a nightmare. Thats why we usually camp late, leave early and leave no trace
Looking at the history of the forest it's an amazing story. Apparently there are large tractors that just sank into the bog while they were planting (the drivers managed to jump clear) and just left because recovery was impossible. Once they broke through the top layer it was just bog. Definitely worth an explore.

hello,
I've been more looking at the Woods than the Tree's on the forum :ashamed: & overlooked this posting. Whitelee Forest Eaglesham Moor (Windfarm) etc.. yes been around that area over the years, did some photography last year on the Windfarm. if you ask nicely through Forestry Commission Scotland/Scottish Power Windfarm they'll give you good advice on the area etc..
Regards
David
