Hi there all

As the title implies, I need your collective assistance. My Youtube channel has now gone over 500 subscribers and I'm reliably informed that it is customary to have a competition.

The problem is that I cannot think of a decent competition/challenge or topic that hasn't already been done.

So please, any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Ade

is it a comp with like a prize type, or just a friendly one? is it to gain more subscribers on youtube? if so i would suggest a question relating to your videos, or site something like in how many of your vids does your mate tuurn up lol if a prize is necessary i would suggest a home made tinder kit or similar! best of luck pal

Cheers buddy. It's just a competition to give away a prize for doing a challenge etc.
I'm not doing it to gain more subscribers. I think I'm one of only a handful of bushcraft channels that doesn't have adverts splashed all over the place to get money, so having more subs is of no real concern.

I have the same ethos on my YouTube channel and website that Natural Bushcraft does, information is to be shared freely amongst like minded folk.

Here I go again, getting on my high horse about youtubers making money out everyone else. Sorry folks!!

Anyway, back to the point. The prize will be a VERY limited edition knife blade and a few other goodies too.

Thanks again.
Ade

Hello Ade,

As you are well in to your wild edibles, you could challenge folks to identify, say three such edibles and the first person to get all three right wins the prize.

Or in a similar, but slightly different vein, you could present folks with (again) three wild plants and challenge them to not only identify them, but also state which one is an edible plant, which one is a medicinal plant and which one is an EVIL plant which should not be eaten or even touched unless you enjoy pain/frequent toilet trips.

But whatever you go for, good luck T^

And congrats on the 500 subs :D

Atb,

Colin

Hi Ade, like Colin's suggestion, which would link in with your web-site, and my two-pennith worth, identify pics of "stuff" taken from unusual angles. Any chance of some pictures of the prize. All the best to you and your family for the New Year.... Cheers Ian...

Hi Ade.

How about a comp to find the best "Top Ten Tips" for those new to Bush Craft. Could be anything, books, links, posts, Youtube Vids or combinations thereof.

Cheers,

M@

Some excellent suggestions there fellas, loads of food for thought.

Although I've just come home from watching The Hobbit, and I had a crazy idea.

How about a 2-4 min video about bushcraft in a Lord of The Rings style??!!

:) :) :)

Hi Ade-one-kanobe, if your going down the film route, how about in the style of a JEDI KNIGHT, and let the FORCE guide you to a winner...:jumping-joy:

There you go an embryonic idea for a competition...the best 'spoof' bushcraft film..minimum duration 1 minute maximum 3 minutes in a televisual/theatrical/cinematographic genre of your choice...although slasher and porn movies NOT allowed..

An example would be someone hiding behind the bathroom door a la ' The Shining' as the axe pounds on the door bits of wod splinter until a face os pressed to the hole......Heres....Cody..Lundin ;) needs work I know

That's it sorted fellas.

Thanks for the help. That's gonna be my competition, a bushcraft film 1-4 mins long in the style of your favourite film or genre.

To answer Sar-Ian's earlier question, the main prize is gonna be a "Romany Bushcrafter" knife blade. The blade was designed by me and manufactured by bladesmith Duncan Chandler of Dorset Woodland Blades.

For those of you familiar with his work, he needs no introduction. He is excellent at what he does.

This is an example of the blade that I put a handle on some time ago.....
