Hi Kris.

I've looked in my Collins Gem of Mushrooms and it looks like Jew's Ear (Auricularia auricula-judae). I'm no expert though!

Yep. Defo Jews Ear Fungus. Nice in stews but NEVER fry it.

I fry it all the time, with wild garlic on toast, it's gorgeous..it just tends to spit a lot when fried other than that never had a problem with it..
