Game of Thrones for me.

The Hobbit reminded me of something I saw a few years ago.... please spare us the Titanic style flute music and the tearful speeches which signal the end of the movie.

Anybody got any views on this?

I didn't get to see The Hobbit (yet ;) ), but I have read the book many times over, and it just gets better and better each time I read it. I'm a big fan of JRR Tolkien :).
I personally adore the Irish whistle music in Peter Jackson's version of The Lord of the Rings movies - I could listen to Sir James Galway all day and never get bored ;).
To be honest, I get a bit teary-eyed at the end of the movies and sometimes when I finish of one Tolkien's books.

The Hobbit .. without a doubt, game of thrones is a poor pretender..

I must admit to really enjoying both but Game of Thrones is addictive. Having watched a couple of series, I'm now going to start on the books.

That's what I thought...Peter Jackson is excellent, but he's certainly not Tolkien himself ;).

JRR for me. First read the books when I was 11 and have read them many times since. :)
