"Free" alternative to expensive dry bags

It's very icy around here these days as it's raining, so needed to purchase som gritting sand to spread on the ice in the driveway. The sand comes in heavy duty 50 litre plastic sacks that are closed the same way as modern dry bags. And one this size easilly cost 10-15£. I will need a lot more of that sand this winter by the looks of it so I will have plenty of those bags in the end. Nice to keep kit dry in a bergen...

Don't know about that type in the UK - they are really good.

I've been using builders rubble sacks as rucksack liners for years - but not as good as these.
