Hi Joseph.

I use the British Army 120ltr PLCE ruck sack. There's a shot of it in one of my albums.

This link will give you an idea.

Plus points: side pouches can be detached and used to form a 20ltr day pack. Robust, water proof, plently of room

Down side: I tend to use the extra room and it gets very heavy! :confused2:

I'm sure somewhere there's a thread on here about the different packs we use...

I use the same 120ltr ack as Ehecatl and love it, but be aware the more space the more you will take, 120ltr of kit is heavy for us civvies

I also have the 120 ltr bergan but i think it is to big for a over nighter that is why i am going to try out my camlebak mother load or one of the other camelbak's that i have i do try not to use DPM rucksacks/ bergans so go for plain boring colours green, brown, and grey are the colours of many of my rucksacks i do have a few DPM rucksacks but only use them for shooting ect as dont need them for work any more.

Hi Joseph.

I use the Highlander 80Lt pack, plenty of padding for a nice comfy carry.
If I could afford the light weight/pack small gear I'd drop to a 40Lt pack.

Ouch!

For an overnighter or even a four day trip mine is a 46L Osprey Exos. They do a larger version that is about 56L that seems popular as well.

I also use a 120 litre one with an adjustable back length, Not necessarily for the weight carrying but I can fill with volume such as under-quilts etc without having to strap anything outside.

Ive just done two nights in subzero temps with a 50 ltr pack and had more than enough room.
Problem is the bigger the pack the more gear you pack thats not needed.
I can strongly recomend the Berghaus Vulcan II.
