Bought one of these of E-Bay, it's a Utensil Pot that has been modified, i bought some 8mm Bolts and Nuts and added some feet to help with air flow and used the spares to add a built in shelf for my enamel Kettle & Pan...

Very simple idea but as a noob i have found it to be great for what it is, i have also bought a Swedish Military Trangia and tested that out, also very cool

does anyone else use these Ikea pots ?

6974697569766977 I saw a thread a while back which inspired me to have a go at a home made stove.

Very cool. I'd like to make one. I don't have a Dremel, but everyone says it's useful to have anyhow.

89808981I made one of these years back and still use it regularly tho mainly with a tatonka burner in. I use cut n angled flat skewers as the pot rest as you alter the pot/cook height easily - billys or frying pans etc. However i do carry four bolts but only to raise it off the ground if i need too. Also a short length of chain for an open fire pot hanger with a tiny detachable "S" hook, again to alter cooking height over an open fire. HTH.

For those who have built stoves, did you use a Dremel or a file?

I used a rotary tool (Dremel like thing) with a cutting disc. Cut a cross in the side of the tin, then bent the triangles inward, so there were no sharp edges to catch fingers on, while feeding twigs into it :)

I use the same as Adam. Aldi sometimes have them in and to be honest, they are not a bad piece of kit for the money. Mine was in the stock end bin and cost £3.50.
