Following on from another thread, and with due credit given to Aiden_cub who's idea I have stolen, I propose to organise a pub get together on a few evenings.

The idea will be to meet up and get to know our fellow bushcrafters in the area. The other main purpose will be to try to organise some future meet ups in the woods, be they a bimble for a day or a weekender. It will also be a good opportunity to chat and learn from each other over a pint and a pie.

All are welcome, the only qualification is your ability to get there.

The venue will be the Brown Cow pub in Chatburn but that's not fixed in concrete. Provisionally the first date we are looking at is Tuesday 19th Feb. but if this is even a half-success there will be more.

If anybody is interested please let us know. It would also be useful to those without transport if you say where you are coming from, or if you need help with a lift.

Thanks for the responses fellas. With 6 of us, plus any others that might come from other forums and/or as late-comers, we have enough for this to be a nice little get-together and maybe the start of something bigger and better.

Time and place as agreed with a kick-off at 7.30PM, but turn up when you can. Looking forward to meeting you all.

You can always PM me if you have problems.

An excellent evening. :) Thanks for showing up chaps, it was great to meet you all at last. A pint, a chat about serious stuff, then more than a few laughs. This definately won't be the last time we do this. Can't wait to get out in the woods.

I'm so glad you came along Rimski, new recruits are the future. It might feel a bit strange to begin with but in no time you'll feel right at home.

Dan! You da man! Relying on you to come up with a meeting spot, date and time - so waiting to see your post. It's gonna be great day out and a damned good laugh whatever you choose.

Following on from an excellent conversation at the recent pub meet about what drew us all into Bushcraft wherein i mentioned 2 TV programmes

The first was The Bushtucker Man, the second was a fella who very few people have heared of, called The Barefoot Bushman.

Here is a video of him:

Really great guy but checkout his choice of cutlery!!

Hope you like it.

Danny has posted his follow-up meet details here:

I didn't spot it until it was pointed out to me so I thought I'd add a link.
