Hi Folks !
Does anyone nap arrow heads ? How about knives ? I have been watching videos on YouTube and it looks like fun ! Some are about using the bottoms of glass bottles, which would be easier for me to get.
If not, I recommend them. :jumping-joy:

i've made a few arrowheads over the years, but it has been a very very long time and I doubt I could still do it justice anymore :( I've not use bottle bottoms but I have used thick plate glass to pressure flake heads from, they were cool.

Do you knap already? If so, lets see what you can do :) I always wish I had more time to persue it myself

I nap most days. I find that just after lunch is my favourite time of day. :)

Flint napping is something I have always wanted to try but never gotten around to it.

So I'd be interested to see other folks work on here.

I am going to try the glass bottle-bottoms type this summer. But first I need to make the tools to use for this.
I have never done the picture things but I could try.

Well , I've made a couple of pressure flakers (don't know how well they will perform) as well as gathered a few hammer stones (from my flower beds :ashamed:) and found a piece of thick leather for a leg pad. The big boys also use a "indirect" flaker. This is a handle about 15 inches long with copper rod (about A 1/4 inch thick and shaped to a point stuck in an end) You hit this with a bopper and it flakes the piece, and is held in the crook of your knee. I still need A " Copper bopper" .
I will have to melt some lead and get a copper plumbing cap to build this tool. A busy day ! Still, we make progress.:happy-clapping: :happy-clapping:

I just noticed I'm a "WANDERER" now. The Greek word for this is " PLANET " . As long as MARTIN refrains from calling me URANUS I'm cool with it. HEE HEE
