Just seen this http://www.ronniesunshines.com/smart-tent.html

I don't think it's very "smart" at all! What do you folks reckon?

Perhaps if I was going car camping....with a semi-trailer.

Just a silly gimmick for people who have money to burn and dont know any different. What a ridiculous weight for such a small tent.

I could erect it on the roof rack for when the grounds damp http://yoursmiles.org/msmile/fun/m0172.gif (http://yoursmiles.org/m-fun.php?page=2)

I think they have their place, I guess fishing people will like something similar?
My wife would love it so would the kids. Not really one for carrying up Ben Nevis though....

The concept is a good one for a static camp. I would imagine it would be much like sleeping in a hammock. But that weight, over 12 kilos! Got to be a lighter way of doing it.

I'm guessing this maybe a concept to test the market? Its weight is reflected in the price, at £130 its farely cheap for the design. There maybe further additions to the range if it sells with lighter materials that will push the price up?

I still remember sleeping on a two legged camp bed as a kid; curling up in a ball and being quickly woken up as I was at one end, as I slid off the end as it tipped up! Great memories of camping.....

begs the question - why? Looking at the frame, it's hard to imagine it would even go into the boot of the car folded, and if it did there would be little room for owt else! Looks comfy but a bit cumbersome.

cant see the point, another attempt at removing the thought process from sleeping outside. I suppose its perfect for the cant be bothered so I will pay for it sheeple

Some joker mates at a rally (especially when drunk) would lift and shift you in the night...lol

Each to their own..... Not for me. Of course if it was for poshcrafters it would have a second story.

I would not even consider a tent like this until I could not only chill out and sleep in it, but also comfortably cook in it, shower in it, take a dump in it and still have enough room to fit the girlfriend into it.

Solar panels to power the laptop would be important too.

And while I'm at it, wheels, a form a propulsion and a steering mechanism would also be important, so if the designers don't take my suggestions seriously, I will go and buy a caravan, just to spite them !

Exactly - complete rip-off IMO.
