One (of many) of my weak areas of knowledge, is my tree identification.
I found these great videos from Patrick Whitefield on the subject matter.
I've put the four videos together as a play list for easy reference for everyone. You can jump from video to video using the arrows at the top of the video player. I hope you find them useful, I know I did. :)

Great post, I like Patrick's easy manner, he is someone I could be taught by without me drifting off to la la land.
As someone who works with timber I am sadly lacking in the I.D skills of many of the resource materials. :ashamed:

I recently acquired a copy of his favourite book ( his Mums ) "Trees and Bushes in Wood and Hedgerow" Vedel, H.; Hardcover; £1.02 + P&P (under £3 from Amazon)

Nice one Tigg's T^
I have a pocket book of trees that is conspicuosly missing at the mo' and just re-found a Readers Digest book on trees and shrubs, that was my Dads, that incorporates many of the features Patrick mentions.
A bit too heavy to cart around but good reference material.
I guess that negates any future excuses :rolleye: :)
