Hello All ,
I'm looking for a leather sheath for my Companion HD , I would like to get one with a firesteel loop .
There are several leather shops that could make one I'm sure but I (like everyone else in this forum) I'm broke. Is there any suggestions ?
Thanks , nilo

Why not make your own ? they are easy and cheaper to make, plus you can always say " I MADE THAT " - that's how I started leather working,
if you need any advice give me a shout.

That.

The only way you'll get one cheap is to make it yourself. And you'll learn a new skill/craft at the same time which will allow you to make yourself plenty of other things as well.

I have a template for a Mora sheath I made. I'd happily scan it so you (or, indeed, anyone else) can make their own Mora sheath. Except I don't have a scanner. I'd photograph it and post it here, but then it wouldn't be the right size...

Here you go.
I took a picture of the template. I also included a tape measure in the picture, so you can resize it before cutting. Make sure you have it the right way round, depending on whether you want it right or left hand draw. Think about it before you cut and you'll be alright. Likewise, you may want to lengthen the belt loop if you want to attach it straight to your belt. I did it the way I did to attach it to a loop to make a 'dangler' (for which you'll also need to make a separate belt loop - but you don't need a template for a strip of leather).
Here it is:

And this is what it will make (not the knife. Obviously):

So no excuses - get making!

Great advice, after seeing Bri in action in Wales you just have to want a go, there is a great instructional video on youtube with lots of tips fpr leatherworking, it's actually for a folding spyderco knife, but the techniques must be similar

I found this tutorial on British blades forum about 10 months ago - Very clear instructions and easy to construct, just adapt it to suit your needs.

Search for a fella called Ian Atkinson on YouTube. His channel is called satansbarber.

His videos are excellent. Very clear and informative.
