In the Circular Netting thread http://www.naturalbushcraft.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?5435-Circular-Netting I described techniques where definate rows are required in projects. A cast net would be one such example.
In many cases this is a bit fiddly and not necessary. I made the "Harvesting Bag" http://www.naturalbushcraft.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?5410-Harvesting-Bag using the spiral method.
I described spiral netting in the "Sticky" netmaking instructions using another starting/support cord method http://www.naturalbushcraft.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?4651-Netmaking (page 2, tubular netting).
Here is the double support cord method.

For the double support cord tie a 1" loop (A) with overhand knot. Complete loop with overhand knot (B). Begin tying sheeet bends into the suppport cord starting against overhand knot A. I did not complete the last mesh. To do so I pull it tight around the gauge and complete the sheet bend around the 2 strands of the sopport cord.

In this example I tied 10 loops onto the double support cord. To complete the circle I put overrhand knot B through the loop formed by overhand knot A. I then put aside the gauge and went from the last sheet bend (at loop A in picture below) and tied into the first loop (B). This joining loop (C) is a bit awkward to tie as you do not have a gauge to tie around.

After going around a few times remove the double support cord from the sheet bends. Untie overhand knots and pull on the 1" loop. If you are lucky both sides will pull free. If not pull out one side and the other side will be easy to pull out. Restring the support cord through the top loops so it moves freely. You can then go round and round making the tube as long as you desire. Tony
