Hi, After looking on the internet and seeing the high prices of paracord on online bushcraft shops, I was wondering where does everyone else get paracord or don't they use it if so what do you use instead?
Thanks for you time.

Depends on the usage, if its only for guy lines etc, poundland/world, but they don't stock it all the time, cheap as chips , or 550 paracord from http://www.thebushcraftstore.co.uk/us-gsa-compliant-550-paracord-248-c.asp , proper good stuff....... cheers Ian...

550 paracord is considered the best as it should in theory support 550 lbs. Of course there are cheaper alternatives and it really depends what you need the cord for.
I'm sure other guys on the forum will know where there's cheap 550 to be had.
Cheers,

Same as Ian, although I was in Bushcraftland the other day and their 'utility rope' of old which was a good, but poor man's paracord, seems to have been replaced by thicker 'rope' that looks like that plastic stuff used on washing lines.

Try THIS (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Web-Tex-ParaCord-Para-Cord-100m-Reel-Bivvi-Basha-Camping-Hiking-Hunting-Survival-/111047272502?_trksid=p2047675.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D333005%26algo%3DRIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%2 6asc%3D12%26meid%3D6818139107074227431%26pid%3D100 011%26prg%3D1005%26rk%3D2%26sd%3D110977483419%26)
I can't think of anything I couldn't do with it, from hanging tarps, guylines, using in bowdrill, anything really???? I've also had (just given away to a mate) a load of the poundland stuff Sar-ian mentionedand it's slightly thicker but still good.
