this is something im going to try. what woods are best?
also, mora spoon carving knife on ebay for approx £20 - is this good or not??

I think I gave about £15 for mine but that was a while back,I'v been thinking of getting a farriers hoff knife they are about £7 on fleebay,there a lot smaller so you can make smaller bowles

The bevel is on the wrong side on a hoof knife. I know as I made the same mistake.

That's not what I meant. Its on the inside of the curve on a farriers knife. Forcing the blade into the wood. Spoon knives function better with the bevel on the outside of the curve.
