anyone intrested in a hang / camp at bush farm at west knoyle? its where the wilderness gathering is held, ime thinking of sat night to sunday day 20th to 21st April.

Woodland Camping £7 per person per night, wood available for a fire ,toilets, showers, secure parking, shops within 3 miles also on site, and if paid in advance i could pick up local rough cider or perry at £10 a gallon. could have a communal stew if wanted. would be a great chance to have a chin wag,and show of your kit etc.

Cheers guys.

I really want to come up for this one, but the bartering price with my oldest to look after the young uns on the Saturday morning is fifteen quid and a bar of chocolate. I will beat the girl down.

I'm nearly there with the permission !!. It will be another story now whether I use the train or car.

A good nights sleep will sort this one out. I will be up bright and early in the morning and sort this one out for sure.

That's what you get living with three humans of the opposite persuasion !!!.

Can't make this one, as knee willing, I'll be camping out closer to home that weekend. But after looking at the Bush Farm site, I would been keen to visit if you have another hang later in the year.

Out of curiosity, I looked at train tickets from west Cornwall to Gillingham. Crikey the prices have gone up a bit haven't they?

That's what I thought Colin. The cheapest I saw was £78.00 return !!.

Cool, I'll definitely up for a hang later in the year, I'll start saving for the train fare now :D

Neil, I did find a return ticket, for one just one adult, for £59.50 (http://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/service/timesandfares/CBN/GIL/200413/0700/dep/210413/1200/dep)

Which is still probably cheaper than it would cost you in petrol to drive (I don't have a car at the moment, so can't say for sure), but the last time I got a train beyond Plymouth, it was a £16.50 super duper advanced single to London Paddington (got a return for the same price), so I was anticipating a price around the £30 mark, but I have now recovered from the shock of the actual price.

If I start travelling up country on a regular basis again, I think I might have to invest in one of those semi motorised bicycles

Would love to join you, just a tad to close to Northern Soul 2, so later in year would be ideal, anyone else from up north fancy it, and split the fuel money etc......
Cheers Ian...

I won't able to make next weekend, but i live in Blandford and am always looking for an excuse to get in the woods. Been to the W.G a couple of times, it's a great spot. I love the 'No Axes or Knives' sign in the kliddies play area!!

I will be up for a stopover at some point Justin but with the recent RV and Scout camp I have to catch up on some work at home first. Money side also needs sorting as I have let my invoicing slip a bit with the Scout assessment recently. Keep us informed of future dates.

I could also meet some of you Cornish folk at Tiverton Parkway Station if it cuts down on train fares, or even Taunton Station avoiding a train change if we go up on mutually convenient dates.

Fish - the South East group are also meeting that weekend, so fancy an informal photo competition (only for fun) between the two meets?

I propose three categories:

Wild life or nature
Evening meal
Forum members being silly

Up for it?
