Mine is in a hammock now, he is 10 and probably should have been in one earlier if his dad was not so overly cautious :ashamed:

My 2 year old has been sleeping in a hammock since he was born :-)
It's excellent when we have a family outing. When it's his nap time, we just hang him up in some bush, and off he goes to la-la land :-)
you dont have to hang high up either ,my boys hang at normal bed height.

Me too, and to quote Shug: I like to sit and put my shoes on in the morning :-)

Shugemery, He is one well know man,
My kids use hammocks and they are really close to the ground like Justin says, but they take a while to settle compared with ground dwelling, think it may be the noveltyof rocking them, sometimes they top to tail.

Here is the little runt waking up after his afternoon snooze in the hammock. That was last summer when he was 18 months old

Great video fishyfolk I love the fact you kids are in hammocks so young, ill Definatly try my 7 year old in one not to sure my 17 mounts old daughter would stay put though she wriggles a lot in bed and wakes up early standing in her cot banging the door and shouting, I'm afraid she might wake and fall out lol

With the hammock that Ståle slept in as an infant his back was no more than 10 cm of the floor. And we had a gym mat under it just in case he managed to wriggle out.

Yup - sure that will be fine. So long as said 7 year old can sit comfortably in the hammock with feet on the ground then it will be ok. Why not try a quick test run in a local wood so they are used to laying in it while you brew a cuppa? :happy-clapping:

We made my little ones Hammocks out of bed sheets when they were 4 and 2. They liked them so much that we had to sling them under the bunkbed next to each other, Never seen them sleep better!! As a bonus they get to pick the pattern on the hammock too.
