hiya guys
so irecnetly bought the smiths tri one sharpener as my knife is in need of a sharpen
i have been sharpening but isimply cant get the edge to a hair shaving sharpness, what are your ideas on this sharpener, any tips or tricks
anything will be helpfull

Wot sort of grind do you have on you'r blade max?

and have you honed it on a leather strop or on a really, really fine stone or wet/dry paper - 8000 grit or example

yup, just normal wet dry, used wet of course and of a high grit...thats the advice i got off here and it seems to work. Try stropping it on the back of a real leather belt too

rub some toothpaste or jeweler's rouge on the back of the leather for a better finish,

sorry for the lack of replies,
i tried the really fine wet and dry and then the toothpast covered belt
its now brilliantly sharp
