I was looking for this info as i was wondering what a 13.5 tog duvet equates to in sleeping bags and under quilts for hammocks,as i have ordered a down filled duvet at 13.5 tog to make into a big hammock under quilt.

1 season, Summer: 15ºC to 8ºC / 3 to 5 TOG
2 season, Spring/Autumn: 10ºC to 0ºC / 5 to 8 TOG
3/4 season Winter: 3ºC to -10ºC / 7 to 10 TOG
5 season Mountain: -5ºC to -20ºC / 9 to 12 TOG
Polar/High mountain: -15ºC to -40ºC / 11 to 16+ TOG

yes, agree with BJ. It's worthwhile knowing what the tog value relates to in Centigrade for DIY Under blanket making

I've not used an under quilt, is it used with a sleeping mat or instead of a sleeping mat?

An underquilt is'nt compressed - it hangs under the hammock.
