twas a fine day here in sunny wiltshire and so the kelly kettle was packed and off we went to explore Grovely wood near Salisbury,we saw all manner of wild flowers as well as one or two bluebells:

Lovely photos in a beautiful place. That Grovely Wood must be a warm sheltered place, 5th photo down the Yellow Archangel, I won't see that in flower in the wood up here for a couple of weeks yet..:( The bread price record is great. ;)

First flower looks like a wild violet. We have them in violet, white, and yellow around the Northeast US.

DSC04724 looks like wild garlic mustard. It's an aggressive invasive over here. Haven't eaten it yet, but there's some in the back yard of the house my wife and I just purchased. I did crush up a leaf to smell it, not bad.

I can imagine a panoramic shot of the bluebells framed on my office wall...absolutely stunning.

It's always difficult to judge from a single picture the correct identification of a plant but I would say the first is wild violet ( less likely to be wild iris) second is wood anemone, third is herb Robert, forth is bugle

I think by now the leaves are too bitter to eat raw - the best time for them is in late March. But the seedpods and flowers should be out now (they are in my parts), and they're excellent :D.

You're absolutely right, my friend. :D I just saw some when out driving for work the other day and this morning in my latest issue of "Adirondack Life" magazine and went, "Whoops!"
It's similar, but not quite it.
Thanks for the tip on the leaves, I'm not closing on the new house until mid-June so I may just wait til next spring to try them from my own yard.
