could be handy for my role as a dog handler, particularly in dense woodland or urban settings where a 40 L rucksack is a hindrance. Not as 'warry' as military webbing and less overt than a police style vest

Not seen Ribz before, but I have used something similar. It is basically civvy webbing isn't it?

Not a bad thing in my opinion, helps with weight distribution and you can either have essentials to hand or, as I have done when hiking to a meet, you can carry your gear on your back and load your front up with booze :D

Regardless of functionality or practicality, there is a difference, quite a significant one, between adapting what you wear, carry, use or do because of what others think of you, or what you believe others may think of you; and adapting what you wear, carry, use or do because of how it makes you feel.

As you can see I use the Ribz, like using them and find them great.. but I would not personally walk around in public with them I only use them when fishing, hiking or camping.

Competition is not up yet as I'm a bit blank for ideas but as soon as it goes up I will post to the forum :happy-clapping:

Couldnt agree more; mine has been great at distributing the load. Jacket pockets can only carry so much like gloves, torches, snacks, etc in the hills. My only criticism: I wish the strap system was a bit more 'fixed', it always takes a few seconds to re-arrange it when putting it back on!!
