After the earlier topic about this lantern and in search of a lightweight light source to light mine/my sons hammock, I bit the bullet and shelled out the £24.45 (with postage). I went for the value pack which contains the lantern with 9hr candle already loaded, a 3 pack of 9hr candles and a fleece bag to carry it all.

I was amazed when it arrived just how light and small the lantern was, standing closed at 4.75" and open 6.5" and weighing approximately 6 ounces.
Operation was very simple just pulling the lantern open (when closed the glass sits inside the lantern body to protect it)sliding the glass down and lighting the candle.
My son carried the lantern around most of the night by the bail handle which opens a good 3.5/4" above the lantern. He even dropped it at one point doing no damage to him self or the lantern just putting the flame out, after relighting we hung it by the small chain attached to the bail handle(included attached) just outside his tarp. Keeping his hammock lit all night.

All in all its small and light Enough to chuck in your bag, I was we'll impressed the only thing I would recommend is maybe a tougher case for carrying the lantern when packed in your bag. The candles are about £5 for 3 which is 27 hour of burn time so a little expensive.

it did exactly what I needed lightweight and small and kept my sons tarp lit up!

I'm in no way connected to The company that manufactures or sells UCO candle lanterns )
