Every year I take a snap of the chives in my front garden when they bloom. Here's this year's....

Regardless of the weather, for me it means that summer is starting. Oh and er, there's more than just thyme and rosemary for flavouring!
Cheers,

Hmmm chives, my fave sandwich as a kid was egg, salad cream, fresh chives and black pepper. Every time I see chives I want a sarnie. You've made me hungry now.

Very nice on new potatoes with a bit of mayo - yummy!

One thing I do miss with my wife cooking is the lack of herbs. My mum always used to flavour the meals and I always take the opportunity to use a dash of mixed herbs when cooking for myself in the woods. Garlic is another favourite and my lad has a taste for it too, but we only get our way when it's take away night

Yes lavender works well flavouring pannacotta too - use sparingly though. Yum yum

I use garlic, I like the taste and the bonus is it covers up the often strange results of my cooking..:D
