Hello all at Natural bushcraft,

I am just wondering whether you could put your pan/pot directly into a trangia/tatonka stove or is a pot stand necessary?

No, You will need a pot stand as the flame outlet is on top. The trangia triangle (or clone) is a decent small stand.

Or use a little trivet like this one

I have one of those trivets but in stainless steel. Very useful bit of kit and fits almost any stove you can think of.

Those look really good, but I ordered a fold flat one that also works as a wind shield. Those trivets would be great if you were trying to keep weight to an absolute minimum.

Great bit of kit as said by Stephen and then a piece of foil cut from a heavy Tinfoil baking tray (aluminium disposable baking tray)

works a treat and is compact and light, I use a paper clip to keep the wind shield in a circle and a bit underneath the stove can act as a priming pad and insulator from the ground,

Tatonka also do a nice little colapsible burner holder/pot stand combo - but still needs the foil shield
