That's awesome loving the Dakota fire pit, more schools should have lessons/day/weekends like this I would have loved school if I'd been taught this kind of stuff. Nice one Justin thanks for sharing :)

Brilliant to see them enjoying themselves in that way. Thanks for sharing photos.

I spent all of last week teaching fire skills to year eights on their camp, We covered man-made and natural tinders, Modern and primitive fire lighting techniques, They loved working on bow-drill kits in teams and we had great success.

Sadly I doubt that I will be able to share any photos due to overzealous laws, I might see if I can get some published on the school website.

no laws about photoing and showing pics of kids doing normal stuff mate.

Data protection laws do not permit the showing of a child's photo without parental consent. I know this could lead to all kinds of technicalities and discussions but at the end of the day it just does not happen.

Wish my school was like that, being honest I could not wait to get out of my school so I could get out to the woods, go fishing ect but that was many years ago.

being able to opt out of the poor uk education system is a great thing mate,my kids are way better educated by us,no government made 'party line ' to tell just honest truth and factsand we can instill good honest values too.

After all, what they teach you depends on which party is in power..... T^
