Aspen /fire drill

As per previous advice I have brought a Collins gem tree book and have been busy annoying the wife with my tree spotting and have seen an aspen tree on a Job I am doing and wondered if its any good for a fire drill set .............seeing as its a member of the willow family and someone told me willow was good .......

I agree Sapper. Mate of mine we were discussing types of wood & uses for fire drills & these
were mentioned tried & tested. Here are some good woods for learning with
(and good for actual survival use too) Cedar, most Willows, Aspens and Poplars, & Spruces
just going on what was available in the area.
