I am still hoping she isn't pregnant, but she has a large belly and is lethargic.

Jack Hargreaves was one of the best programms that was on the tv in 1970s and have since managed to get a couple of dvd's I think that it should be put back on the tv to show the youngsters of today how things were.

Well I would like to think so and those that do might get out of the house instead of playing games on their computers.

If you would like to borrow them Jonny you could PM me

I can't remember how many he did, but am thinking not a lot, they always seemed short clips from what I remember '20 mins' and he sat at a bench in what looked like the garden shed which in reality would be a TV Studio set.. an all in very knowledgeable fella with country ways and gypsy life

He was on the box a long time befor the 70s,Gone fishing was the first prog I remember him in, and that was in the late50s.Out of town started in 1963,then there was a prog called country boy.The guy was a bit of a spinner he lived in London most of his life.:happy-clapping:

When you mention Gone Fishing and Out of Town, they are the programs that I remember never heard of 'Country boy' though Tony.. sounds like he was a crafty old sod then.. I was only a kid myself and easily taken in by him lol.

I like what he says at the end - 'Why are we going to the supermarkets and finding we are importing rabbits from China'! What a backward Country we live in

There don't seem to be as many rabbits about here at the moment, Pheasants, there are loads of them.

I left the UK in 1974 and remember Jack Hargreaves from the TV programme Out of Town from the mid sixties, he was a crack shot with a shot gun and was a very good fisherman, ferrets often featured on his programmes but what I remember most of all was the show where he introduced us all to a new invention, the "weed eater" (Strimmer) something totally foreign to the age Jack was born into, I also remember how relaxed and at home he was with his pipe in hand, something which would be so politically incorrect on todays TV, perhaps we need a few more Jacks in our lives to guide us along the path to "the good life".

I remember the great Jack Hargreaves from the 1970s, he made a series called country boy with the late Oliver Kite, when they took a townie boy into the countryside to teach him country sports.
He then went on to make the out of town series ( I have all the videos ) which are still available on DVD and can be ordered from most major outlets,a bit pricey but well worth a look.
