Hiya,

Just bought a folding hand saw in lidl's, on their "weekly offers" section. Cost 2.99! First impressions are good, has a nice locking blade that looks very similar to the blade on my Silky Zubat arborist hand saw! Cuts very well and seems very well made! Worth checking out if your in the market for a folding saw!

I bought a couple of these several years ago, a fine and a medium blade. Have to say, for the money they're excellent. I still use mine quite regularly and although the blades are past their best, they still cut well enough for most day to day jobs.

hello,
Great saw BTW value for money & if you lose it well your not losing a more expensive saw are you? I use one for general jobs around the campfire or out & about. Got a possible 'trade' with a NBC member on 1 of 2 I have spare from a batch I was given. 1 left
Regards
David

Hi guys, I have a multitude of these. Two in the bergen in case one breaks, one in the car (you never know) and some spares for friends.
Always pick one or two of these up when I'm in Aldi or Lidl. Think I'm obsessed!

Also have a similar one from asda but this one has a 13.5 inch blade and sheath - think I paid £3 or £4 - feel like I could cut down a forest with it! :jumping-joy:

I'll have to have a look in my local shop they look pretty good to me and everyone speaks well of them so they must be a buy.

I started out with one, and I couldn't fault them really. I use the wee saw more than most do, as it's invaluable to have a decent saw when collecting a lot stick shafts (I have to work 2 years ahead of myself as I can't dry them any quicker). I use a laplander now but it's like GB axes you only really benefit from it if you use them a lot. So if your only cutting the odd wee bit it will serve you well.

Excellent. I'm not sure why so many pruning saws cut on the pull stroke. Massive waste of energy.
Mind you, maybe its because of idiots like me who lean out from a ladder to reach a branch. Much more likely to fall when pushing than when pulling I guess.

hello,
Well-done Pootle. I've done similar both within the NBCommunity & offline. Least I could do as an input to the NBCUK.
