Army surplus wishlist.....!?

Hiya,

Im thinking of maybe dealing in the odd bit of army surplus gear. Was wondering what knid of things sell well / are in demand? Prob going to start small with some czech bed rolls, Trangia`s, crusaders etc. Any thoughts / ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the replies! Im looking at maybe getting some british DPM goretex trousers and some Flecktarn gear. Im just going to start this as a paying bobby and see where it goes!

At a local shop near me you can pick up crusader cups genuine issue used for £3.50 so you should be able to pick them up from a whole seller quite cheap to begin with I think they would sell well also maybe a cheap basha of some kind

Lots of larger sized goods would go down well mate, I like some of the army gear but struggle with there sizes!!

Maybe a good source of olive green army gear would be good too!!

Ration packs are quite popular now a days as well !!

Instead of just stocking all the things that people can already get from other shops and sites, why don't you specialise?

A lot of the above requests are asking for larger sizes. So why not specialise in that?

Cheers for that! I will look into larger sizes! Was also thinking of maybe knocking up some bushcraft "starter" kits, stove, firesteel, pans, spork etc in a bag for a reasonable price.......

Definitely wool blankets...they are in high demand here in the States, especially those that are Italian made and 100% wool. Only problem is that the prices have sky-rocketed - 5 years ago, a used Italian officer's blanket would cost you no more than $25 in the average surplus store. Now you're looking at spending upwards of $50...IF you can find one ;).
Another thing to mention are canvas rucksacks, such as the Italian army mountaineering pack. Not too many folks are willing to pay top dollar for a Frost River when they can buy a decent surplus pack for less than a quarter of the price.

I don't know the volumes but as far as clothing goes the fella in Camborne says he sells loads of goretex jackets and over trousers this time of year, softie trousers (and jackets when he can get them) and the desi windproof smocks in the winter and norgies all year round (usually when I pop in and he has one in my size:D). He also does a steady trade with patrol boots.

Kit wise, Bashas and jungle sleeping bags seem to tick over for him.

The Austrian army have big sized stuff, I think it's for reservests that have grown a bit since comming out of the army.
