I have a pink slip for the three days. Will try and by there as soon as pos. I was thinking, as tony suggested. He plus who ever else get there early. The rest get there as soon as pos. Paul if you want to come to Romford by train I can pick you. Feed yourself Friday night. Saturday morning I can cook and Sunday morning any takers for Saturday night ? Sopping will by done over the weekend. I think a shelter needs to be built, I will dig out the dunny Saturday.

As the bike's nicked and the wife won't be without the car for that long ill have her drop me off at Tonys (if that's okay Tony) and we can get there early Friday.

I've just bottled 20 litres of Sauvignon Blanc and 20 litres of dark velvet stout, so will bring some of this as well as the larger, cider and elderflower champagne I've got ready :)

ian c
22-09-2013, 09:09 PM

I know that Plus 1 cannot make it and I don't want to commit just yet as I'm not sure how things will pan out with the move. So, in the event I do turn up it's going to be at short notice and it would be for the Saturday night only, hence I'd come armed with my own grub (and beers!!!) plus a breakfast contribution too. I'd be grateful if someone could PM me the gate code (not likely I'll be able to get a C130 for a HALO entrance).

I'm happy to assist with the mass catering on Saturday night, but only if I'm there!

Sure I read about brandy somewhere up in the thread. Must remember to bring a box of the those chocolate brownies. Seem to remember that they soaked up brandy quite well and it was a good flavour combo.

Cheers,

M@

Chaps, I am deeply gutted that I will not be able to attend. All I ask is that there's adequate photographic evidence posted here after the event - ESPECIALLY if there's another "chorizo incident" !!! The forum will need to know if further gastronomic discoveries are made - specifically involving dunking things in brandy.

Enjoy, have a great time and I look forward to seeing you all as soon as possible.

Cheers,

Matty, this is what the community is all about. Some folk on here have spent the majority of their lives living the outdoor life whereas the majority have only just begun. These good people join Natural Bushcraft with a shared interest and a knowledge to share. You will love your time out at the meet and probably come away with more questions than when you went, but that's what makes it all so interesting :)

I've got a 2nd DD under quilt you can try out for the event.
I'd bring a pad too for extra warmth, as it's a static camp, we go heavy! The DD under blanket will allow you to open up your bag as a top quilt so you benefit from the extra loft on top (so they say) ;)
If you need anything else just holler. Just bring bring your grub and booze. Oh and don't forget the booze! Ha.

Yesterday I spent near on 180 quid on bits I need for the camp. But if I cancel the doctor I could be waiting ages again. And today it took me half hour to stand up straight.

I would say what should I do but tbh I prob know what you will say, and deep down I know its right.

Just gutted.managed to talk missus round and she canceled my birthday meal ( oh thats on the friday aswell) then this happens.

I've constructed a dunny, not dug the hole but the shelter is up.a project for the weekend could be a shelter build, plenty of leaf and wind fall timber on the ground.

The chute and 25 lt water butt are up there. The water butt is empty. Will need filling from the outside tap by the stable tea room.

See you all on friday

Looking forward to this chaps! See most of you tomorrow, the rest on Saturday.

Mark46w, if you get here: http://goo.gl/maps/X9i8w and call when you're at the gate, Mark will give you the gate code and we'll walk up and meet you at the site car park.

Any last requests lads? Going shopping in the morning.

How about a communal stew on Saturday night? everyone just bring a bit of meat and some veg.
We usually get a rabbit or two, so if we're lucky on Friday night, we can use them for Saturday night :) What do you reckon?

Need a big pot. Anyone got a big Dutch Oven or similar?

Wrong place mate this is last meet back in October. And calm down ease into it slowly. If the weath is bad it won't be fun. See what I can so next time.
