Hah, I burned it all in one go...I think I deserve it, I have kept my last find of fat wood in my tinder box for a year now...
Besides...with you method, I will never be without again :-)

:) yes definitely worth it after the hard work, dont know if you know but if you leave the bark on it will make your fat wood store longer. If you take the outer bark off, the fat wood tends to dry out in a few months.

Nice link BTW. I've been resourcing some of this whilst the Forestry are clearing out the deadwood just now. Nice Pine tree roots too exposed, these are dried out & give off a great heat when burned, lovely smell too. Still to shred these either sawdust or very thinly shaved, stored for next venture.
