Hey I will be moving to the city for work but am keen to find some woodlands to treck around camping bushcraft a little hunting fishing etc. I would like to know what public areas are close by? easiest way to get there? Rules or regulations permits? Fire bans if any?( I'm from Australia we have them there...) game seasons? Any Info about any of that would be great... Thanks

Welcome to the forum.... We have very strict knife and gun laws for a start....and to fish legally you need a rod licence....

What about for slingshots or bows? Are fishing licenses expensive? I know I have a lot of questions... I'm just trying to be prepared and clued into how everything works? Oh knife laws what sort fixed blade? Flick concealed that's sort of thing...

Cant hunt with bows in the UK. Dunno how much a rod licence is...our knife laws basically prohibit anything with a fixed or locking blade over 3" in a public place without..... 'valid' reason. Carry a screwdriver concealed and you could find yourself on a concealed weapon or going equipped charge.

Your not going to get a Shotgun Cert or Section 1 ticket anytime soon either so that limits you to air weapons. The legal limit for an ar rifle in the UK is 12ft lbs at the muzzle, if it goes over that your looking at 5 years so no tuning is allowed and most sensible folks have their rifles chronoed to 11.5 ft lbs to provide wiggle room as the police wont test your rifle with your choice of pellet

you may want to look into the laws on trespass too

Hi Craftoz, welcome to a great forum:)
Hunting around London, hmm.
I hear they have a big problem with rodents, around the Houses of Parliment. You could start there:rolleyes:
