Hi Bushcrafters,
I'm Stevie and I live in the very bonny but exceptionally wet Scotland.
As I eagerly await the arrival of my TW Hammock, this weekend, my trusty companion Lola (below) and I are setting off for our first proper hang time together.

Here's a little pic of Lola chilling in my mate's DD Hammock

Hi All,
Thanks for stopping by.
Indeed Saxonaxe, Lola doesn't much like the rain, so here's hoping for a dry one. Wetness aside, she's happy as long as there's grass, trees and squirrels to chase!

Hi Stevie
Welcome to a great forum.
Surely Lola is used to the rain, considering your location:rolleyes:

Hi BJ, Hi Rossbird,
Thanks guys.
Rossbird, just because we are used to rain in Scotland doesn't mean Lola hasn't learned to cross her legs!

Hi OakAshandThorn,
Thank you so much for making the effort to make me feel welcome in the traditional Gaelic language.
Is it ok that I had to google it to find out what it meant?

Of course it's OK! :D
There aren't a lot of people who know much about the language, and less are knowledgeable of the different dialects. Most of my Irish blood comes from my grandmother's side (Dempsey), and ever since I was little, I wanted to learn as much as I could about my ancestors. I've been very fortunate to find a tutor in my town to teach me Gaeilge, and I am now coming up on my second year of study :). I am most familiar with standard Irish, but I do know some bits and bobs with the Gaoth Dobhair/Ulaidh (Gaeilig) and the Connachta/Conamara dialects. I sometimes type Gaeilge phrases to keep me going - as the saying goes, "if you don't use it, you lose it", as I learned the hard way with Italian years ago.
