Being honest I don't touch fungi as I would not know what is safe and what is not.

Amethyst deceivers are fine for eating imo.
They look good in a salad, as they retain their colour when cooked.
Yours look a tad washed out, or is it just the pic.

It's because I had left them outside in the sunshine for a few hours, fades their colour somewhat.

I tried them a short while ago. Wasn't a big fan at the time but there is lots that I'm not really a fan of (I'm not a fan of Wood Blewits for example). I'd have to try them again to be sure. Last time they were mixed with other thingsx One thing is for sure though and that is that they retain their texture!

I am pretty sure they sell these in the Asian Supermarket here in New Zealand...
