Just wandered if someone could give me some advice.
This weekend ive planned on building a shelter in the foredt with my son.
I just wandered what the rules were on having a small fire.
It will be only small and setup in a safe place where there is no chance of it getting out of hand.

If you mean the New Forest National Park, you aren't allowed to light a fire as you can see here:
http://www.newforestnpa.gov.uk/info/20099/recreation/37/access/3
On other private land, you must get the land owner's permission to do anything except pass over a public footpath. Don't forget, all land is owned by someone in England and Wales.
Of course, what you do discretely and carefully, leaving no trace, is your own business but you don't have the right to build a shelter or make a fire. Just imagine what the New Forest would look like if everyone who wanted to do the same was allowed to do as they please.

I did think the fire would be not allowed.
But I didnt realise its not allowed to build a shelter but yes I can understand why.
Think I need to re think the weekend and find out more of what you can and cannot do
Thanks

if your only going for the day, and were to dismantle it when finished, I cant see any rangers having a problem with it, surely they allow kids to play?
