hello,
I bought some sweets in Lidl recently 99p. They come in what looks like a small milk churn tin 'All Butter Toffees.' (Image 1) Anyway the tin breaks into 3 pieces (Image 2) I was playing about with the tin in store & thought 'Pop Can Stove.' The lid has a small pop out removable disc with a slot which I think complete maybe useful as a piggy bank? The large top section with the side handles was removed & turned inwards snug fit, the two side handles hold the top steady in place (Image 3) although the can could be used without doing so as I placed a cup & pot on top, I actually prefer the top inwards more solid, Trivet support can be used too (not photographed). The top side view (Image 4) gives an idea how much fuel capacity the tin could take, roughly the same dimensions as a standard soft drinks can but more solid. I've tried & tested (no images) hadn't the camera with me, but it does work. I was thinking of drilling a few holes around the rim like a Pop Can stove once the lid is inverted slotted into place. When I've time I'll remove the painted label with some paint stripper, the sweet brand is embossed so that will still be seen (no matter) Not bad for 99p.
Regards
David
